Steven Tyler

Steven TylerAfter spending time on the Boston club circuit, under the tutelage of their first manager, Frank Connelly, the band began working together with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. They then signed a recording contract in 1972, and then released their debut album, titled "Eponymous," in 1973. It was followed by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. and Draw the Line. These albums have helped Aerosmith to gain fame internationally. These albums are the origin of legendary hits such as "Dream on", Walk This Way as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums went multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. The band started to feel the effects of the hectic life of touring, recording and living in a community, as well as using drugs as the decade progressed. Tyler and Perry were sometimes referred to as the Toxic Twins, for their famous consumption of stimulants and heroin. Their relationship is documented in many of Aerosmith's video albums as well as in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler, apparently much more committed to the band, seemed to resent Perry's aloofness and envy Perry's prioritization of the females in his life. Aerosmith was in a state of decline around 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
